New Painting Sneak Peek ~ Guess Who!

I finally got some painting done over the weekend - yahoo!
Here's a little peek at what I've been working on.  Can you guess who it is?  It's not hard to figure out.  It isn't quite finished yet but I hope to wrap it up today & get it listed on Ebay tomorrow.
I'm really EXCITED about this one!  It's a bigger 8X10 & I love how the rich COLORS turned out!
I'll post it here tomorrow so come back!  Hope you like it too!

Only 3 days of school left!  HIP HIP HOORAY!!!
Have a happy, happy Monday!

Finally Catchin' My Breath!

My new St. Francis!

Man oh man, July just FLEW by for me! I can't believe it's already August! I know most moms look forward to their kids going back to school but I dread it. I miss the stress-free summer with no schedule, sleeping in & NO HOMEWORK to help with. My daughters are pretty independent with their schoolwork & I don't usually worry about their grades but my son's one of those that might not even do his homework if I didn't tell him to. He's lucky if he even knows what his homework is. Starting high school is going to be a real challenge for him but he's a great kid & I'm sure will get in the groove & do fine.

July was just a flurry of activity for our family & I knew it would zoom by in a blur. Somehow all our summer trips got scheduled for this month ~ 4th of July weekend in Kansas City, trip to Denver to visit my sister & family, family vacation to Colorado & then we had friends from Chicago visiting all last week which included an overnight trip to Kansas City to take our girls to the Jonas Brothers concert. They had a blast & were bouncing off the walls talking about it afterwards! The picture above is my new St. Francis ~ a Jim Shore creation I snagged for 1/2 price at a Hallmark store last week! I just LOVE it (even without any cats on it)! Seems Jim could've found room for a cat on there somewhere. Guess he was going with the wild animal theme.

My husband took the kids up to Abilene, KS (his hometown) for the weekend to hang out with grandma, grandpa & cousins while he attends his high school reunion. I opted to stay home & catch up on housework & painting. It's nice to have the house to myself for a few days now & then. I'm hoping to crank out a painting or 2 by the end of the weekend. I think one will have to have a mountain theme! HAPPY SATURDAY TO ALL!!!

Latest Kitty Creation...

Hello all you blogger peeps!

Here is my latest painting ~ a few days later than promised. Oh well...I had it done, then didn't like how the cat looked so I repainted him, then didn't like that either & repainted him again. There's still something not quite right about him but I was tired of messing with him so this is how he is. "Cat Loaf 2" is listed on ebay right now! Check it out! I have another work in progress that should be done in a day or 2. School & kid activities are finally winding down so I'm starting to have more time to paint.

My daughter's softball team had another rainout yesterday. They have a make-up game this afternoon but we have another chance of storms so we'll see. It's nice & breezy & sunny right now! Happy Wednesday to you all!!!

A Quick Post Before Bed...

Anne (sis-in-law), Mom, Joni (big sis), & me!

Honery Kitties!
Hi everybody! The end of the school year is always SOOO busy! Final projects, softball games, field trips (I always drive) & my oldest daughter has Confirmation tomorrow night. Needless to say, the blog's being neglected. I can't wait for school to be out for the summer & we have more free time! I'm also waiting for a shipment of canvases so my painting's been on hold for a bit, not that I've had much time to paint anyway. I do have a little wooden box I primed last year & want to do something creative with so maybe that will be my next project.

I thought I'd post a few pix of me, my sissy, my mom & my sis-in-law when we had our weekend in Kansas City a few weeks ago & went to see the "Phantom"! We had SO much fun! Also thought I'd add a cute one of my furry kids playing on top of the computer desk. They found a palm from Palm Sunday Mass & had to check it out. I don't know why it was on top of the desk ~ I didn't put it there! Hope everybody's having a great week so far!
