April Showers & Polka-Dot Umbrellas

APRIL SHOWERS bring ...

CATS with polka-dot UMBRELLAS! 

At least in this painting it does!

In honor of our recent (& much needed) rain storms we've had here in Kansas I painted this sweet kitty in her wellies, rain hat & cute polka-dot umbrella, which she cleverly holds with her tail.  I added pink polka-dots around the sides for more fun!  I love how it turned out.  It would look so SWEET in a little girl's room!

I love the rain.  Painting in my studio with a mug of coffee, Irish music cds playing, cats dozing nearby & the sound of rain on the roof is one of my favorite things!

Cupcake with Sprinkles

I have been thoroughly SPOILED lately going on FUN trips out of town with friends & family!

Chicago with my daughter for a long weekend with good friends,

Topeka with my daughter to meet up with my best friend & her daughter,

Scottsdale, AZ with my hubby for the Am. College of Trial Lawyers Spring meeting,

& Oklahoma City with my mom for a fun long weekend with my sister!

It was nice to get back in the studio & start painting again!  Finished up this little 6x6 last night.  It was inspired by 2 cupcake shops I ran across lately ~ Molly's Cupcakes in Chicago & Sprinkles in Scottsdale, AZ.  It was so fun I think I'll probably paint a few more "cupcake" themes!

Pawprint on My Heart!

I completely forgot to post my newest painting last week!

I wanted to do a more "subtle-toned" painting for Valentine's Day with RED being a rich accent color. I think my tuxedo kitty with his pawprint/heart greeting card turned out very sweet!

Happy Thursday everyone! (and the LAST day of school for us - yay!)

Just wanted to share my latest painting with you ~ a rich colored woodland St. Francis with kitties!

I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I think I like working on the bigger 8X10s!
