My Summer Project & now - PRINTS!

Prints now available HERE!

HELLO FRIENDS!
This St. Francis painting was the FUN project I worked on over the summer!
It's a LOGO I was asked to create for a wonderful organization in Florida called the "St. Francis Ministry for Animals".  This AMAZING group of volunteers does many great things to help animals in need in their area including food drives, finding homes & giving care.
I was excited to be asked to design a logo for such a great ministry!

Since the group is in Florida, the logo has a tropical theme with foliage, a bird-of-paradise flower & an egret in the background.  St. Francis holds a sweet kitten & puppy!  The bold, rich colors will brighten up any room!

As a way for me to continue to help the ministry, I'm offering PRINTS of the painting in my Etsy Shop & 50% of all purchases will be donated to them!

Buy a print & help the animals! (Click on the link under the picture above)

Have an awesome weekend!   Purrrsss.......

Fundraiser Painting

Saint Francis and Friends

HAPPY SUNDAY!
This is the painting I've been busy at work on last week.  I'm donating it to a great organization called
"Animal Advocates of Moore County, NC".
They are having a BIG fundraiser in December & this will be in their Silent Auction.
I'm happy to have been asked to be a part of a special event that helps animals.
I hope they raise a TON of money for all the sweet furballs!

At least the CAT likes it!

A few weeks ago I splurged & bought the cutest little child-size antique bed!  When I saw it at the shop it had a sign on it saying "This would make a great dog bed"!  I'd been looking for a good bed for our big 90 lb. Koda & thought it was perfect!  I could just picture it in front of our bedroom window with a cute quilt on it & Koda sprawled out snoozing happily or just lounging with a nice view of the front yard.  He's been sleeping on our king sized bed & I finally got tired of dirty paw prints on my nice cream colored quilt so I decided to get him his own bed & train him to use it instead!

Wellll...you can see how that turned out!  HA!  Markie seems to think it's HIS new bed & is enjoying it thoroughly!  I can get Koda to jump up on it & lie down but he never stays there.  I think he just needs some more training & he'll come around.  Of course when you have a choice between a little crib size mattress & a king size Tempurpedic ~ and you're a 90 lb. dog .....

Oh well, in the meantime the cat's enjoying it & it is a cute piece of furniture!

Yesterday a Kitten ~ Today a Dog!

Sweet little doggie we rescued today!
It must be rescue week for me! This morning I was picking my son up from football practice & as we were leaving saw a cute little Shih Tzu running down the middle of the street. My son got her in the car & she had a rabies tag but with only a hotline no. to call. I got the first name of the owner & her contact no. from that so I called but only got static & then a busy signal. Ugh! These things are just never easy are they? We ended up taking the dog home with us & dogsat for 3 hours. She was just the cutest thing & so well behaved! After several more tries I finally got through & then was given yet another no. to call & spoke with the owner. I then drove the little dog home & the owner was very happy & thankful. I did another good deed for the day.

On a creative note ~ I'm almost finished with my bed skirt I'm making. In an earlier post I had a picture of my "Inspiration Room" that I'm modeling our bedroom after & I just had to have a striped bed skirt like the one in the picture so I looked up directions on the internet, found the perfect material & went to work. Talk about miles & miles of fabric! We have a king size bed & you have to double the length so you can imagine. I'm not a big sewer so this was pretty ambitious of me but once I have my mind set on something I just want to get it done! It helps having a crafty big sister too who is a big sewer & can answer all my questions. I plan to finish it tomorrow so I'll post a pic providing I don't completely screw it up - ha! Hope to have a new painting finished soon too. All these animals needing rescuing has taken away studio time. They are worth it though! Happy Hump Day!
