Feline Friday~How Quickly They Grow!

Our little furry children are all grown up & almost 6 years old!
Look how sweet they were as babies!
They're still sweet now - just bigger.  Especially Koda!  He's a whopping 95 pounds now!
I don't really miss the kitten years since I can have foster kittens from the Humane Society all spring, summer & fall.  There are usually plenty of babies to give me a good kitten fix!
Just ran across these old photos & thought I'd share.  They grow up SO fast don't they???

Kiss your babies & have a happy weekend!

Aww, cute!

Just curious - what kind of dog is Koda?

Hi Linda ~ Koda is a Labradoodle. He's 1/2 lab & 1/2 standard poodle. I'd love to have adopted from our Humane Society but we needed a dog who didn't shed (allergy reasons) & got along well with cats. He's a great dog!

Hi Jill,

Thanks! I thought he was a doodle of some kind, but could not tell if Golden or Lab. He's very cute!

Having dog allergies myself, I understand where you are coming from. I looked into the Doodles (and they're still on my list of dogs I want), but I remember the huge price tag on them and I couldn't afford it. Something around 1800-2000.

I've heard that there are two types of coats with doodles...one is the straight normal flat coat that Labs would normally get and the other would be the Poodle curly coat. The normal coat sheds like a lab and the curly coat doesn't shed - is that correct? So Koda doesn't shed, right?

Thanks again! :)

You're right with all your "doodle" info Linda. The puppies can have either a more "lab-like" coat & shed or a "poodle-like" coat & not shed. You don't really know until they start to grow. We got lucky & Koda doesn't shed at all! He's got curly poodle hair & I love it. We keep him in a short puppy cut most of the time because it tends to matt when it gets longer. I know 2nd generation doodles are more likely not to shed ~ a doodle crossed with another doodle (I think). We got Koda for $800 & I thought THAT was really high but the prices you mentioned are outlandish! I wonder if there's a doodle rescue somewhere & you could adopt one. That would be nice! Take care.
