Discombobulated

I apologize for the lack of posting lately. I don't know if it's the winter blues, eating too many sweets, feeling rundown, raising teenagers, artist's block or all of the above but I'm just feeling out of it lately. When I read the Pickles comic strip this morning I thought Earl had a good word for how I'm feeling ~ discombobulated. I'm really wanting to revamp my blog, try some different art projects, design a business card & find ways to promote my art but it's all just feeling a little overwhelming right now. I know all artists go through periods of discouragement, I just hope mine doesn't last much longer. I'm working on 2 custom paintings right now & hope to have something new to show you soon when I get out of this funk.
Tomorrow my girls & I are meeting my best friend & her daughter for a fun out-of-town day & night so that should lift my spirits. Happy weekend to you!

Dearest Jill! Creative artists of all kind go through these phases...I am in one right now too...move over, I'll bring my coffee cup and we can chat about it. I miss Kansas anyway. Sometimes I have one hundred ideas and no time to get them down on paper...other days I have nothing but time and no ideas...all in all highly creative people are seldom satisfied with their progress and second guess themselves into depressions. Chocolate and some time away with beloveds always helps...have fun...relax and come back recharged. I'll share my cozy cottage motto with you. "I consider it a good day if I do one thing for someone else, one thing for myself, one thing productive and one thing creative." Now somedays that may mean only smiling at a stranger, fixing coffee for my honey, wiping down the kitchen counter and putting a few rubber stamps back in the drawer.
Hugging a kitty always helps...this could be spring fever in which case it is all right.
Hugs from Misses Peach and mommy Karla

My Dear Jill, you are not alone. I have been overeating, especially sweets and caffeine, and after feeling in a fog with no creativity in sight, I cut back on both this week and finally have lost the twitch in my eye and actually created some art. Hang in there, Spring with all it's renewal is just around the corner.

Hey Jill!
I can totally empahthize with you! Don't worry, you will pull out of it before you know it! You have a lot on your plate, and I think that February is simply a month that breeds discombobulation and generally feeling down in the dumps. This soon shall pass!
Keep your chin up and keep on pushing forward!
Purrs and hugs,
Carrie
